Linux
Linux is a public-domain operating system(OS) which is fully posix
compliant, and incorporates much of both System V and BSD. The source
code is publicly available, and is continually undergoing a process of
revision and construction over the internet. The OS was initially
developed by Linus Lorvalds, and since it's original release Linus has
maintained the kernel and compiled all the modifications he has
received into a unified whole.
